Enhance-athon Day 3

Day 3 has seen a little bit of a slow-down in my information absorption rate. Of course it is a work day and that has an affect. I use my brain most of the day and it gets tired after so much information processing.
On the Sun Web Component Certification front I studied more about listeners. I took the end of chapter quiz and scored a smidgen above 80%. More emphasis on the different types of listeners and their methods. Discussion of threads and servlets. How a single instance of a servlet runs in many threads. Authors emphasize where to put information and why specifically targeting the attributes of sessions, requests and the ServletContext.
My journey in the language of Ruby continues to be interesting. Todays focus was on class variables and methods. You Java programmers may know these as “static” variables and methods. Not too difficult to manage in either Java or Ruby. Ruby continues to be a very clean and simple OOP language. Also looked at the freeze method of the object class. Very cool! I’m not sure what its good for exactly but it is too cool not to have uses. Click here to see today’s code.
The struggle of learning to play the guitar continued. I would say a small improvement in my strumming was noticeable. I practice a few different bars of music for the most part. Out of boredom I did flirt with some new chords today. The music book I have called them “power” chords. They were A5, D5 and E5. The book said to practice with them until you could change between them smoothly. Which might take 100 days it seems like.
I will finish up by linking to my files and working on my heroe’s character.
